Managing Access with Omnissa Connect

Omnissa Connect provides a centralized place to assign roles for your users and groups for all of your Omnissa service subscriptions.

Access control

You can do the following with access control.

  1. Invite users and groups: As an Owner you can invite users (called Administrators) or create new groups and then provide specific roles to these groups.
  2. Assign roles to existing users or groups: You can search users or groups who are already part of your organization and provide specific roles.
  3. Edit roles: You can edit role assignments of your users and groups and reassign a different role.
  4. Governance: You can approve or disapprove role assignment requests coming from your organization users.
  5. Roles: You can look up all the roles and their descriptions.

Role types

There are 3 types of roles in Omnissa Connect.

  1. Organization roles: These roles allow operations at Omnissa Connect organization level.
  2. All Services roles: These roles assign predefined permissions in all the services to which the user is entitled.
  3. Service specific roles: All the Service roles are presented in the console when you add a user so you can assign users one or more Service specific roles.

Depending on your use case, you can choose to assign a role that is predefined and spans across all your entitled services or choose a service specific role across one or more services.

Note: Any changes to role assignments may take up to 30 mins to take effect.
