View Horizon Edge Details

After you add one or more Horizon Edges, you can use the Horizon Universal Console to navigate to the Horizon Edges page, where you can view general data on a list of Horizon Edges. You can also click the name of a specific Horizon Edge to view detailed information about that specific Horizon Edge in Horizon Cloud.

The Horizon Edges page provides basic information about each Horizon Edge in your deployment. The page also allows you to add, edit, and delete Horizon Edges.

To view the Horizon Edges page, select Capacity from the Horizon Universal Console.

The Horizon Edges page displays a table of your Horizon Edges. You can change the page display by filtering the table-column headings, such as Name, Status, and Horizon Edge Gateway.

• The Status column displays the deployment status of each Horizon Edge.
• The Horizon Edge Gateway column displays the status of each Horizon Edge Gateway.
• The Unified Access Gateway column displays the status of the Unified Access Gateway associated with each Horizon Edge Gateway.
• The Source column lists the provider type of each Horizon Edge. For example, Microsoft Azure is for a Microsoft Azure Edge and Private datacenter is for a Horizon 8 Edge. The provider types that can appear in the Source column depend on the type of license you have and the type of Horizon Edge you have deployed.

Details for a Specific Horizon Edge

To view data about a specific Horizon Edge, click the name of the Horizon Edge on the Horizon Edges page.

The information on the Horizon Edge details page differs depending on the environment in which the Horizon Edge is deployed. Common sections on this page include Provider, Horizon Edge Gateway, and Unified Access Gateway. You can also find details regarding specific components, such as IP addresses, FQDNs, and certificate expiry statuses. For more details about certificate expiry statuses, see Monitoring Certificate Expiry Dates.

For an example of how the Horizon Edge details page differs by environment, in the Horizon Edge Gateway section of the details page, Horizon Agent monitoring is an option available for Horizon 8 Edges only.

For a Horizon 8 Edge, on the Summary page, you can add Unified Access Gateways for monitoring by performing the following steps:

1. In the Unified Access Gateway section, click Edit to view and potentially add Unified Access Gateways for monitoring.

   • In the Load Balancer section of the Configure Unified Access Gateway page, the Name and FQDN or IP address are specified.

   • In the Gateways section, the load balancer information is specified.

2. Click Add to add a Unified Access Gateway.

3. Enter the appropriate information.

   • Name for the name of the Unified Access Gateway.

   • Management Endpoint is the fully qualified domain name or IP address or hostname for the gateway management endpoint.

   • Username for the Unified Access Gateway.

   • Password for the Unified Access Gateway.

   A CA signed certificate or self-signed certificate can be added and uploaded to the UAG. For a self-signed certificate, you receive a notification to review and confirm the certificate details. You must confirm that you trust the certificate, otherwise a monitoring error occurs.

   Note: CA signed certificates are recommended for all production environments. Self-signed certificates are recommended only for proof-of-concept testing.

Provider Details

You can view the provider type associated with a Horizon Edge, image, or pool.

1. Log into the Horizon Universal Console. See Log in to Horizon Cloud.

   • Horizon Edge - Navigate to Capacity > Providers > Add and select a provider type from the drop-down list.

   • Image - Click Images > Add and select a provider from the drop-down list.

   • Pool - Click Pools > Add and select a provider from the drop-down list.

2. To view the details of a provider, click the double arrow next to the provider.

   The right pane displays provider details. The type of information listed varies by provider type.
