You can edit markers for an image version that is in a partially available or available state.
Note: If an image or image marker is updated for a dedicated pool, the system only rebuilds the unassigned VMs. Assigned VMs will not receive the updated image until they are unassigned.
Prerequisites
- The image is already published.
- The selected version is in a partially available or available state.
Procedure
-
From the Horizon Universal Console, select Images in the left menu.
-
On the Images page, click an image link in Available state to list the image versions.
-
On the Image Versions page, select an image version and click Edit.
-
The Edit Image Version page opens and displays details such as:
- Source Image Version
- Description
- Customize Horizon Agent Features
-
Add or edit Description and add or delete existing Markers, or add new Markers.
If you add existing markers of a version to the current edited version, all associated pools with the marker would be updated to the current version. Markers associated with pools cannot be deleted.
Note: If a marker associated with an older agent version is selected, a warning message is displayed. As a best practice, select a marker with the latest agent version.
-
If the Customize Horizon Agent Features toggle is disabled, enable it to configure Horizon Agent features.
-
Select or deselect the required Horizon Agent features.
-
Click Save.
Horizon Agent Feature Behavior
- If no Horizon Agent features were previously configured for the image version, the Customize Horizon Agent Features toggle is disabled by default and the Horizon Agent features table is hidden.
- If Horizon Agent features were previously configured (either during image publish or through a previous edit operation), the Customize Horizon Agent Features toggle is enabled by default. The Horizon Agent features table is displayed and reflects the current enabled and disabled feature states.
Important: Edit Azure Image Version Restrictions
- For image versions where Horizon Agent features were configured during the initial publish workflow, the Horizon Agent features are displayed in a read-only table and cannot be modified through the Edit action.
- For image versions whose Horizon Agent features were previously updated using the Edit workflow, the Horizon Agent feature configuration remains editable. You can modify the feature selection and save the changes as many times as needed.
Update the Azure Compute Gallery Replica Count
You can update the number of local image replicas in the Azure Compute Gallery for a published image version. Increasing the replica count improves provisioning performance when deploying large numbers of VMs simultaneously, as Azure can serve the image from multiple replicas to reduce throttling.
-
From the Horizon Universal Console, select Images in the left menu.
-
On the Images page, select a published image to list the image versions.
-
On the Image Versions page, click the image version name to open the version details page.
-
On the version details page, open the Published dropdown menu and select Update Replica.
-
In the Replica Count field, enter a value between 1 and 100.
Note: The valid range is 1–100. The Submit button is disabled if the value entered is outside this range.
-
Click Submit.
The system initiates a request to update the replica count. Once the request is complete, the updated count is reflected in the image version details page properties section.
