Managing the Agent Auto Upgrade Feature for a Horizon 8 Edge

With Horizon Cloud, when you have a Horizon Universal or Horizon Plus license and deploy a Horizon Edge in a Horizon 8 environment, you can use the Horizon Universal Console to keep the Horizon Agent instance updated for the Horizon 8 Edge that you specify.

When you have a Horizon Universal or Horizon Plus license, you have access to the Features tab in Horizon Universal Console, which allows you to activate the Agent Auto Upgrade feature. The Agent Auto Upgrade feature in Horizon 8 relies on the configuration of the automated agent upgrade feature that you activate in Horizon Cloud with this procedure.

Note: The procedure that follows activates the feature. You can then manage the agent upgrade from the Horizon Connection Server.

Prerequisites

Ensure that the following requirements are met.

• Obtain one of the following licenses:
  • Horizon Universal
  • Horizon Plus
• Deploy the Horizon 8 Edge for Horizon Cloud.
• The Horizon Connection Server version is 2312 or later.

Procedure

1. Click Capacity.
2. Select the name of a Horizon 8 Edge for which you want to activate the Agent Auto Upgrade feature.
3. Click the Features tab.
4. If the status of the feature is listed as Not Enabled and you want to enable it, click Edit.
5. Click the Status toggle to activate the feature.
6. Click Save.

Results

The Agent Auto Upgrade feature is now enabled for the Horizon 8 Edge.
