Configure entitled vSphere Edge users to connect to their desktop and then configure Single Sign-On (SSO).
Prerequisites
You must complete the following prerequisites before proceeding:
- Add and Deploy a Horizon Edge for vSphere
- Add and Publish an Image for vSphere Provider
- Worksheet for Creating a Pool and Pool Group- vSphere Provider
Note that the term base VM may also be referred to as Golden image in this and related documentation.
Launch a Desktop
You can use the Horizon Client to launch a virtual desktop for users in your Horizon Cloud environment by using the following step sequence.
- Connect to and launch the desktop as described in Launch a Desktop with Horizon Client.
- Use a browser to access the
https://cloud.omnissahorizon.com/appblast/webclient/URL. Note that you can use your own URL by adhering to the instructions at Configuring Client Settings. - When prompted for the domain, use the idpTenantDomain value that was provided earlier.
- When prompted, log in with your user credentials.
- Launch the assigned desktop of choice.

Configure Single Sign-On (SSO)
You can provide your Horizon Cloud users with single sign-on (SSO) access to their desktops and applications by using an Omnissa Certificate Authority (CA). Use the Omnissa CA to issue short-lived smartcard certificates for SSO.
Check the expiration date of your CA certificates on the SSO Configurations page in Horizon Cloud in the Certificate Expiry Time column. Notifications also appear in the Horizon Universal Console to inform you when the expiration of your CA certificates is approaching.

Publish the downloaded bundle as described in the Publish the Omnissa SSO CA Bundle to the Active Directory Forest topic in Getting Started with Horizon Cloud.
When SSO configuration is complete, associate the SSO configuration with a specific Horizon Edge by using the next steps.

From the Horizon Universal Console, click Capacity > Horizon Edges, select the vSphere Edge with which to associate your newly added SSO configuration, and click Edit.

In the Edit Horizon Edge wizard, click Next for each step until you reach the Horizon Edge Gateway section and then select the Use SSO toggle to activate it.

Select the name of your newly added SSO configuration and click Next as required to complete the wizard.
