Using and Managing Horizon Cloud

Omnissa Horizon Cloud supports the Horizon Control Plane, which is a cloud-hosted control plane that provides SaaS services for use with your Horizon 8 cloud-connected and cloud-native/DaaS Horizon Cloud deployments.

The primary use cases for the Horizon Cloud service are:

• Platform for deploying Horizon Cloud on supported platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Azure with integrated Windows 365, Amazon WorkSpaces Core, and vSphere. Additional cloud vendor provider types may be currently available in Limited Availablity or Beta/Tech Preview form.

• Control Plane for connecting to Horizon 8 pods and providing optional common SaaS services. Horizon 8 pods deployed on-premises and on public cloud SDDCs can be connected to the Horizon Control Plane within Horizon Cloud and consume additional SaaS services.

The Horizon Cloud product documentation is comprised of two primary documents, namely this Using and Managing Horizon Cloud and Getting Started with Horizon Cloud, as well as the Horizon Cloud Release Notes.

This publication is for administrators who want to deliver virtual desktops and apps at scale to end users within their organization, and efficiently manage those virtual desktops and apps by using Horizon Cloud and the Horizon Control Plane for both Horizon 8 cloud-connected and supported cloud vendor deployments. It describes how to create and edit Horizon Edge, image, and pool resouces as well as integrated aplications such as Omnissa App Volunes and Windows 365.It also provides information about how to leverage the critical monitoring and managing capabilities of Horizon Cloud.
