This topic includes both requirements and considerations for using Horizon Image Management Service (IMS) for deployments with Horizon 8 Edges.
Your deployments must meet the current requirements to ensure success. If they do not, the image management operations can fail or give unexpected results. For overall Horizon 8 Edge deployment requirements, refer to the following topics:

Image Management on Horizon 8 requires at least one vCenter to be added to the Horizon 8 Edge and registered within the connection servers in the same Horizon 8 Edge.
Known limitations of Horizon Image Management Service
Horizon Cloud known limitations are described in the Known Limitations section of the Horizon Cloud Release Notes in the Image Management sections. Such limitations might include scenarios and use cases that are currently unsupported, such as the following:
- Copy as (Minor) version, and Copy as an Image are not currently supported.
- GPU-based images are not supported.
