Cloning an image version in Horizon Cloud creates an incremented version of the image, which you can then publish as a regular version. When you have published these cloned images successfully to your chosen targets, you can use those published clones to create pool groups.
Before performing any of the following steps, review key information at Microsoft Azure Deployments and IMS.
Note: If you clone a VM that was deployed in an Azure Dedicated Host to a version, the cloned VM will not be automatically placed within the same dedicated host.
Prerequisites
- The image is imported and published.
- The selected version is available or partially available.
- At least one virtual network and tenant (desktop) subnet is selected for the provider.
Procedure

From the Horizon Universal Console, select Images.

On the Images page, select on an image link to list the image versions.

Select an image and click Published > Copy as Image Version.

In the General Information section, select one of the following options and click Next.

Select Major to upgrade the image, for example, for a different software. This increments the major part of the version number.

Select Minor to upgrade the image incrementally, for example, for patching or existing software upgrades. This increments the minor part of the version number.
You can have up to ninety-nine (99) versions of a major or minor upgrade image. A total of 99 major versions can be created. A total of 99 minor versions can be created under any major version.

In case the base image’s VM Model supports Encryption At Host, the toggle will be activated automatically. This feature encrypts temporary disks and ephemeral OS disks using platform-managed keys.

In the Network panel, select the network to use for the new VM of the copied image version, and click Save.
