After you add an image, verify its details, and customize it, you can publish the image version from Horizon Cloud.
Considerations
When publishing an image version based on the Amazon WorkSpaces Core Bundle Custom Image, Horizon Cloud image management service will not undertake any Horizon agent upgrades, feature edits, or pairing code installations on the AWS Amazon WorkSpaces Core Bundle Custom Image. Any such requirements must be addressed by the customer manually.
Prerequisites
Before publishing a custom Amazon WorkSpaces image version, ensure the following:
- No Windows updates are pending. If recent Windows updates were installed, restart the WorkSpace before proceeding.
- The WorkSpace has been restarted to ensure all updates are applied and the custom image can be created successfully.
- Any installed Microsoft Store applications (AppX packages) are properly installed and provisioned for all users, if applicable. For more information, see Troubleshooting Sysprep Errors.
- The WorkSpace status is Available.
Procedure
-
From the Horizon Universal Console, select Images in the left menu. Click an image that is in a Ready to Publish state.
-
On the Image Details page, select the image Version, and click the drop-down Unpublished > Publish.
-
Under the Destination section, the image version you selected is automatically imported to the Source Horizon Edge. This option is pre-selected and cannot be changed. To publish the image to additional Horizon Edges, select the appropriate checkboxes in the table. Select only the Horizon Edges that are associated with the same AWS account as the source Horizon Edge. Cross-AWS-account image copy replication is not supported.
-
Click Publish.
Note: Currently, you can publish to a maximum of 4 non-source provider instances in a single publish operation.
