Create a Pool of VMs Managed by Workspace ONE UEM

This feature will allow you to establish new dedicated single-session pools managed by Workspace ONE UEM, from the Horizon Cloud console. Individual or multiple users can be assigned to each VM in the pool. The Workspace ONE Multiuser feature provides support for multiple user assignments in dedicated single-session pools. Enabling Workspace ONE UEM management is currently limited to newly created VMs. If you need to enroll existing VMs, refer to: Enrolling Windows Devices into Workspace ONE UEM.

Note: UEM enrollment status updates in Horizon Control plane are processed asynchronously, please expect some delay in status to become available.

Prerequisites

• Horizon Cloud and Workspace ONE UEM must be configured to use the same Active Directory domain to utilize this feature. The Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub must also be installed in your VM Image before creating the dedicated single-session pool managed by Workspace ONE UEM.

• Intelligent Hub version 25.06.1 or later

• Intelligent Hub must be installed using: PROVISIONHUB=Y and DEFERENROLLMENT=Y

  • Example command line installation: Msiexec.exe /i airwatchAgent.msi /qn PROVISIONHUB=Y DEFERENROLLMENT=Y

• Horizon Agent version 25.2.0 or later

Procedure

From the Horizon Cloud Console Home

1. Select Pools in the the left menu, or click the Pools tile.

2. On the Pools page, select Add.

3. Name the Pool and add a Description. Under the Pool Type select Dedicated single session.

   

4. Fill in your Desktops, Networks, and Dynamic Environment Manager information as needed.

5. Toggle ON: Manage with UEM (Workspace ONE Unified Endpoint Management) to enable it.

6. Once enabled, more fields will be displayed for your specific UEM information (Enrollment Server, Organization Group, Staging User, and password). NOTE: Currently these fields must be typed. Any typos made in those fields will cause new VMs to fail when attempting automatic enrollment to Workspace ONE UEM.

The Horizon Cloud console will display the enrollment as pending until an assigned user logs into the device for the first time. Upon user logon:

• The device will be automatically enrolled to Workspace ONE UEM for management.
• Horizon Cloud console will update the enrollment status.
• Workspace ONE UEM console will display a new device record under Devices > List View.

If the enrollment fails on the UEM side the device status may stay at pending.

You can edit an existing desktop pool to disable UEM enrollment for future VMs or modify enrollment parameters. Any changes made to the UEM enrollment parameters will apply only to new VMs created in the pool. Changes to the UEM enrollment parameters do not affect existing VMs in the pool.
