Create a pool for use with integrated Windows 365

After you have added a resource provider for integrated Windows 365, you are ready to create a pool.

When you create a Windows 365-based pool, it is automatically added to a pool group named Windows 365. This pool group is unique to integrated Windows 365 and the automatic addition of pools into this pool group is a unique function of integrated Windows 365 in Horizon Cloud.

Note: If you want to enable SSO for the Windows 365 pool group, you must select the Machine Identity option when creating the Windows 365 pool.

Prerequisites

Before performing the steps in this task, complete the following prerequistes in the workflow:

Add a resource provider for Windows 365. See Add a resource provider for integrated Windows 365.

Procedure

1. From the Horizon Universal Console, click Pools > Add and select Windows 365.

2. Complete the fields on the Add Pool page, using the Horizon Edge and Provider that you created earlier in this Windows 365 integration workflow.

   Site options are filtered on sites that are available in the region specified for your Microsoft Azure Horizon Edge. As stated earlier, Edges must be be deployed in the same Azure regions as your Azure Cloud PCs. Note that the Region value auto-populates to the region specified for the Horizon Edge.

3. If you intend to enable SSO for your users, specify the Machine Identity value. This will allow you to enable the SSO option in the resultant Windows 365 pool group as described later in the workflow in the Edit the Windows 365 pool group to use SSO topic.

   

4. When you have finished creating the pool, click Save.

5. A Pool Saved message appears, providing you with the option to Go To Agent Features or Finish. If you have not configured default agent feature settings yet, click Go To Agent Features now. If you have already configured the settings, click Finish.

   

   If you have not yet configured default agent settings, see Customize default agent features for new provisioning policies for integrated Windows 365.

   When you click Finish, the pool is automatically added to the Windows 365 pool group.

6. After you have configured default agent feature settings and finished creating the pool, proceed to the next step in the process at Map pools to provisioning policies for integrated Windows 365.
