Selectively Exclude Apps from Users View in Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub Catalog

You can exclude specific apps from the list displayed in users' Hub App catalog on certain devices. This prevents unintentional user interactions with the app. Excluding apps from the Hub App catalog is useful when you want apps visible on specific devices but not all devices. This approach prevents unauthorized actions, such as updates, on restricted devices, helping to control and centralize app usage across the organization.

To manage which apps are excluded for different users, you can create templates with various versions of the Hub Services App Catalog, each configured with different sets of excluded apps. Creating different templates lets you align app availability with users requirements effectively.

Note:

  • To remove default categories (such as All Apps, Web Apps, and Virtual Apps) from the App Catalog in the Hub portal, use the Exclude Default Categories setting, available on the App Catalog > Configuration page.
  • To exclude an App Bundle, you must add each component app of the bundle to the exclude list.

Procedure

  1. Navigate to the Hub Services console Home page and select App Catalog > Configuration.

  2. Select the version to edit, either Global or a customized template.

  3. In the Catalog Layout section, customize how the Intelligent Hub app displays the apps.

  4. Enable Exclude apps.

    • Click the down arrow; click Add a row and in the Search text box start to type the app name. Select the app to exclude.
    • Click Add a row to add additional apps to exclude.
  5. Click Save
