Setting Up Self-Service Actions to Display in the Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub Support Tab (Cloud only)

Enabling Actions in the Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub app lets users perform basic device management tasks from their devices. Non-critical and critical actions to let users manage their devices are implemented from the Workspace ONE UEM console. Quick Actions are created in the Workspace ONE Orchestrator Freestyle service in the Workspace ONE UEM console as Workflows for problem-solving or configuring their digital workplace.

NOTE: Workspace ONE UEM version 24.10 or later supports configuring Critical, Non-Critical, and Quick Actions.

Examples of the types of actions.

  • Non-critical actions These include changing passcodes, clearing device passcodes, or locking their device.

  • Critical actions These involve more significant tasks, such as deleting a device or performing an enterprise wipe to unenroll and remove resources from their device.

  • Quick actions These allow users to execute Freestyle Workflows for problem-solving or configuring their digital workspace.

Users can see the actions that are available in their Omnissa Intelligence app on iOS, Android, and Windows devices and the Hub portal.

Note: Users accessing the Hub portal from a web browser can view and execute actions for any of their enrolled devices, not only the device they are currently using. This includes quick actions, except on macOS devices, which do not display quick actions in the Support tab. On the Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub app for Windows, and on iOS and Android, quick actions are only displayed for the device the user is currently logged into.

To use quick actions in Hub Services, you use Workspace ONE UEM Freestyle Orchestrator in the Workspace ONE UEM console to create customized workflows to automate endpoint configurations on devices. In Freestyle, you configure a workflow, assign the workflow to the Windows platform, and select a smart group that can access the workflow. When Workspace ONE UEM is configured with Hub Services, in the Workspace ONE UEM console select Auto Deploy and Show in Intelligent Hub to deploy the workflow to the Hub catalog when the workflow is published.

To set up Actions for the self-service portal, you configure Hub Services global or custom templates and select the actions that users can access from the Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub Support tab.

How to Create Workflows in Freestyle Orchestrator for Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub App Catalog

The following outlines the high-level steps in the Workspace ONE UEM console to create workflows that displays in the Hub app catalog and can also be added as quick actions in the device Support tab. See the Freestyle Orchestrator guide for detailed steps about creating and managing workflows.

  1. In the Workspace ONE UEM console > Freestyle > Freestyle Orchestrator page, create a workflow.
  2. In the Admin Panel, select the Windows platform and select the smart groups to which you want to assign the workflow.
  3. In the Admin Panel, configure the Deployment setting Show in Intelligent Hub. When the workflows are published in the Workspace ONE UEM console, the workflows are displayed in the Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub Apps catalog. To make the quick action links easier to find, in the Hub Services console you can set up these workflows as quick actions that display in the Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub Support tab on devices.

When the workflow is published in Workspace ONE UEM, the workflow displays in the Hub app catalog.

For information about how to set up templates in the Hub Services console, see Using Hub Templates to Customize the Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub Experience for Different Users.
