You can organize the Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub App Catalog layout in the Hub Services console to promote apps, add different sections to display apps, and show the Favorites tab. You can also exclude apps from displaying in the app catalog and control which default categories appear in the browser-based Hub Catalog. The Hub Services out-of-the-box layout of the app catalog displays the New Apps section followed by the Recommended Apps section.
When you create the global Hub catalog settings, you select the platforms that can access the global catalog. The platforms options are Android, Apple iOS, macOS, and Windows Desktop. When Omnissa Access is integrated with Hub Services, the global catalog can be accessed from the Hub portal in a browser.
You can create versions of the catalog to target apps to different departments in your organization. For example, you can create a version of the app catalog for the HR group. For this app catalog, you promote apps that employees who work in HR use, and you add categories to the catalog that feature apps that are HR business-related apps. When you create a template for the HR group, you select the HR version of the catalog.
You can also enable Conditional Access, which allows or restricts access to apps assigned to a group of users based on access policies you create and manage through Omnissa Access. For more information on creating Access Policies, see Assigning Access Policies to Web Applications in Omnissa Access.
Create the Global App Catalog
Create the global app catalog so that the catalog is organized to apply to most group of users in your organization. When you create templates, you can assign the global app catalog to the template.
-
Navigate to the Hub Services console Home page.
-
Select App Catalog > Configuration.
-
In the Platforms section, select which devices can be used to access the global Hub catalog.
-
Configure the Catalog Layout.
-
You can change the order that the New Apps and Recommended sections display in the Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub. Drag the six-dot icon to reorder the sections.
-
To delete sections that you do not want to display, click X.
-
If you want to promote a specific category, click ADD SECTION and select the category to display as a section in the Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub app.
-
In the Category List, any default categories configured to be excluded are displayed as grayed out. See the Exclude Default Categories information that follows.
-
-
Configure additional app catalog settings.
-
Enable Exclude apps and add apps that should not display on the end user's view of the catalog in this template.
-
Enable Exclude Default Categories to control which of the built-in default categories appear in the app catalog for end users.
- Currently, this feature applies solely to the Hub portal in a web browser.
- With Exclude Default Categories enabled, expand Exclude the default app categories from the catalog to reveal the Categories panel, which lists the default categories that Hub Services supports:
- All Apps
- Web Apps
- Virtual Apps
- Select the checkbox next to each default category you want to hide from the catalog.
- Hiding a default category removes it from the App Catalog for end users. Therefore, this hiding action removes the category from the Categories list and removes the corresponding default category section when that section is displayed.
- Admin-configured custom categories are not affected. Therefore, apps that appear in custom categories continue to appear in those categories regardless of this setting.
- Reordering default categories is not supported through this setting.
-
Show Favorites Tab is enabled by default. If you do not want to include this tab in Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub app, deactivate the setting. When the Favorites tab is deactivated, the Favorites tab and the Favorites section in the app catalog are not displayed.
When Show Favorites Tab is enabled, the Show Web Links feature is also enabled. Users can bookmark web links that display in the Favorites tab. You can deactivate the Show Web Links feature.
-
When Omnissa Access is the source of authentication for Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub, the Show Web Links feature is also enabled. Show Web Links allows web links saved by end-users to appear within the Favorites tab. Saved web links may not appear on all platforms and devices. You can deactivate the Show Web Links feature.
-
Enable Show App Volumes Apps if you want to make App Volumes applications available in the Intelligent Hub web portal in addition to Intelligent Hub on Windows.
If this option is not enabled, App Volumes applications do not display in the portal. This option is applicable to both App Volumes Manager and App Volumes on Horizon Cloud integrations.
Important: Before enabling the Show App Volumes Apps option, configure browser policies for Windows machines to allowlist your Intelligent Hub web URL for local network access. Without these browser policies, users will get repeated Local Network Access prompts in browsers such as Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge when the Intelligent Hub web portal connects to the local App Volumes Agent running on their machines.
If you have not integrated App Volumes, or do not want to display App Volumes applications in the Intelligent Hub web portal, do not enable the option.
-
Show Virtual Apps on Devices controls whether virtual apps appear on mobile devices with screens less than 9 inches in size.
-
Enable Conditional Entitlements uses Access Policies configured in Omnissa Access to allow or deny end-user access to managed applications based on Access Policies. This setting is disabled by default. Conditional entitlement is only available for Android and the web version of Omnissa Intelligent Hub.
For more information on creating Access Policies, see Assigning Access Policies to Web Applications in Omnissa Access.
-
Show Unavailable apps appears when you have enabled Conditional Entitlements. When Show Unavailable apps is selected, apps that end users cannot access due to assigned conditional entitlements appear in the app catalog, but cannot be accessed. Apps that users cannot access will appear greyed out and feature a lock icon, but users can still add these apps to favorites, reorder them, and search for them. If Show Unavailable apps is not enabled, apps that users cannot access will not be visible in the app catalog and cannot be searched. This setting is disabled by default.
-
Enable App Rating to allow users to rate the apps that they use. When App Rating is enabled, thumbs-up and thumbs-down icons display in the User Rating section on the app details page.
